Niykee's personal highlights include being selected by a scout to join Snoop on the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, and writing songs in spite of the chaos over the last few years. She is a constant magnet to producers just beginning their careers. The beats she hears from producers spark songs. "I'll be able tell within the first 5 minutes if this is a quality beat. When I've got an idea in my head, I will start writing straight away." I'll sit out on my back porch with my guitar, and then the lyrics just come and usually it's finished in just thirty minutes. While she develops as a lyricist Niykee notes that the pain of her history is an unending source of unlikely ideas. It's tough to forget the painful memories from my childhood, and especially losing my younger sister. They end up being incorporated in her music. The resulting music is shaped by my experiences and provides it with a deeper significance, something I consider very important. I'd like to be able to listen to my songs in 20 years and feel proud of what I have to say.
